Walid Kafi has been working as a film / video director and creative professional for over 10 years. Throughout his career he has produced an international body of work, within both the commercial and artistic fields. His directorial style focuses on a story telling approach and uses innovative editing styles to evoke an emotional response from the audience. His videography for A Tribe Called Red’s video R.E.D. was nominated for a 2017 Juno Award , won a 2017 Much Music Video Award and nominated at CBC Polaris prize 2020. Throughout his career, Walid has collaborated with internationally recognised artists such as Yasiin Bey, Dave Chappelle, Talib Kweli, The Narcicyst, eL Seed, Karim Jabbari and more. His work has been featured by the Qatar Museum Authority, BBC, Bell Media, The Fader, Much Music, and CNN. After years of freelance work, Walid launched his production company Metro Creative Productions in 2016.
