Videographer in Vancouver, Washington

I have a good mix of skills in producing, writing, shooting, and editing that makes me an excellent choice for the position of Videographer/Photographer: Marketing and Sales Apprentice. I’ve edited a wide variety of projects, from 30-second PSAs, to 6-minute informational videos and longer format documentaries, to 90-second shorts for website and social media. I produced segments for a newsmagazine show for 14 years. For these videos, I set up and operated the camera, microphones and lighting, and conducted the interviews. I've used both camcorders and DSLR cameras for shooting B-roll and interviews. I’m expert at nonlinear editing, including graphics, effects and filters, and color correction. I’m a master with audio - great at selecting and laying music beds and sound effects, balancing audio levels, and mixing voice tracks with ambient sound and music. I can edit in Final Cut or Premiere Pro, am skilled in After Effects and Photoshop and can use Media Encoder for digitizing videos into various file formats for playback on cable TV, websites, YouTube, Vimeo, and social media. While I have a broad range of experience and a well-rounded set of skills in the technical end of video production, I'm also a skilled writer. I'm great with video scripts, including intros and segues for stand-ups. I have a background in journalism and have written articles for newsletters and social media as well. I like challenges and am continually trying to learn new skills. Currently, I'm taking a WordPress class so that I can build and update websites. After I've completed that I plan to take a series of digital marketing classes, to more effectively market myself and others. I mention this because I would embrace the opportunity to put my academic learning into practice with hands-on experience in social media marketing. I'm a genuinely nice person who works well with others. I enjoy sharing my knowledge and am eager to help in whatever capacity I can. I especially enjoy collaborating with others on creative projects. And while I have the skills to work independently, I believe two heads are better than one. I've always been very mission-driven and am currently looking for a new work adventure to which I can devote my energy and passion.
