Joseph Salvatore Edgewater Chicago, IL 60660 (... [email protected] December 9, 2017 My name is Joey Salvatore, and I am currently a junior at Jones College Prep. I have a strong interest in videography and digital media, and in the last couple of years I have been making short films. Skills The cameras that I have used for my projects are the Canon t3i (with a variety of lenses), Sony cx-190, DJI phantom 3 standard, and the DJI Osmo. I am very competent in the operation of all of these cameras, especially the phantoms. I have been flying drones for years now, and am able to get almost any shot I want with my drone. I have also used green screens, lighting equipment, sliders, tripods, the Zoom h-1 (Audio), etc. For editing, I use premiere. I began to teach myself premiere about a year ago, and since then I have gotten to know the program thoroughly. I also know how to use iMovie, though I choose not to because I have access to premiere. I have some knowledge in After Effects, Final Cut Pro, Photoshop, and Final Draft; however, I cannot claim to be an expert. I can, however, learn these programs very quickly, if necessary, since I have already used these programs. A skill that I possess, in addition to operating equipment, is my ability to envision unorthodox methods of obtaining a shot that would otherwise be beyond my budget. A good example of this skill are the steady cam shots in “DUE VITE”. I figured out that if I removed the propellers from my gimbal stabilized drone, it could operate as a shoulder mount due to it’s X-like shape. I then tried to figure out a way to stabilize the footage on the vertical axis. I decided to use one of those off brand hoverboard/segways. I bought one for very cheap and it worked perfectly. It ended up working like an infinite dolly. Interests I am interested in literally any project that involves videos. I love to direct, shoot, edit, write, coordinate, honestly pretty much anything. And I genuinely enjoy all of it. My end goal is to eventually become a feature film director/cinematographer, but I would love to do other things involving video. For example, I was recently hired to record the basketball games of a high school junior who is a college prospect. I am extremely interested in film. I probably watch too many movies. I have been inspired by directors like Christopher Nolan, Quentin Tarantino, Vince Gilligan, etc. I study their films and TV series regularly. I have also been paid for aerial video before, and I just landed my biggest job thus far in the basketball shoot I mentioned earlier. I would love to help your vision become a reality!
